Now is a better time than ever to keep in touch with contacts at different companies and show (not tell) your value-add. Whether it's a Hiring Manager who's told you to follow-up continuously, or a Human Resources person who's told you the company is in a hiring freeze, a helpful link will always be well-received. There is a big difference between sending an email saying, "I know you were in a hiring freeze, has anything changed since we last spoke?" and "I know companies are trying to cut costs wherever they can in the current economy, so I've attached a link I thought you'd find helpful." See the difference?
Have you sent a helpful link to your contacts recently?
